In 2030, the world population is expected to increase from 7.79 to 8.55 billion people. Due to the increase, cities will expand and the area available for agriculture will be limited. To this scenario, the food supply must be adapted. In order to be able to grow food in a small area in one's own home, Plantodine has genetically modified houseplants to be suitable for consumption.
The fictional brand identity Plantodine was created in the 4th semester on the topic of speculative nutrition in the future under the direction of Franziska Callensee and Tim Nolden at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences.
To grow the eatable houseplants at home, no public space is required and they fulfill many functions – they serve as healthy nourishment, air purifiers, decorative elements and motivate people to garden at home.

Various touchpoints were developed, such as a cookbook, a smart watering system and seeds to grow the eatable indoor plants of Plantodine at home.
All pictures of the plant leaves and the plants arranged on plates were taken by me during the lockdown at home.
